News of ARC Zero’s innovative and far reaching work in piloting the journey towards Net Zero for farmers has travelled far and wide. But it still came as a considerable shock when ARC Zero received an invitation from Australian premier retailer, Woolworths and their subsidiary, Greenstock.
Once every four years, the breadth of the considerable beef industry in Australia gathers in Rockhampton, Queensland for “Beef” week.
Beef 24, was held in early May, where for the first time, Woolworths, exhibited and engaged with both their farmer suppliers and their consumers at this legendary event. In looking to give guidance and leadership, on the second day, Woolworths hosted their business breakfast, a gathering of some 300 of Australia’s key movers and shakers and gave the floor to ARC Zero.
In the audience, ARC Zero farmer Simon Best and on stage, ARC Zero Chairman, John Gilliland, chaired by Greenstock MD, Anna Speers. Making sure that the attendees were given good value, John was asked to answer the challenge, “Health, from the Ground Up,” delivering both improved human and environmental health and explain how ARC Zero’s journey had been pivotal in accelerating generating the answer to this challenge.
Ninety minutes of questions ensued, such was the interested generated from John’s presentation. For those interested, a video recording of the presentation and the subsequent questions can be found at the following link
On behalf of ARC Zero, John would like to sincerely thanks the Greenstock MD Anna Speers, her team and the wider Woolworths team for their extraordinary hospitality they extended to both Simon and himself; and in addition, putting their faith in both John Gilliland and ARC Zero to deliver a thought provoking and engaging session at such an important event in the calendar of the agrifood and environment sectors of Australia.
